SHORT-TERM DISABILITY.

Did you know that if you are unable to work due to non-work-related sickness or injury, you may be eligible for short-term disability benefits?

Carpenters Health Plan provides a short-term disability benefit to help members who are unable to work during periods of temporary disability. If you are active (non-Medicare) and unable to work due to sickness or injury that is not work-related, you are eligible to take advantage of these benefits. These benefits include payment for required COVID leave due to illness and exposure to COVID-19.

The short-term disability benefit pays $300 per week for up to 26 weeks, and begins as follows:

Members filing for short-term disability have up to one year from the date of accident or injury to file for this benefit. For more details, refer to the Plan document regarding short-term disability on page 57:
