Finding an In-Network Provider

Carpenters Benefit Plans consist of a health and welfare fund, multiple pension funds, a vacation fund, and an annuity fund. Each trust fund is a not-for-profit multiemployer trust established and governed under Internal Revenue Service (IRS) guidelines. The purpose of each fund is to provide specific benefits to eligible members of the Carpenters’ union. As a not-for-profit trust under federal law, all assets of the funds must be used to provide those benefits.
Each benefit trust fund is governed by a board of trustees. These boards of trustees operate under strict federal guidance. They are responsible for overseeing the financial strength of the plan, making sure the plan complies with all applicable laws and regulations, and for determining the benefits available for eligible participants.
The Mid-America Carpenters Regional Benefit Services, Inc., (MACRBS) is a member-service not-for-profit that administers multiple benefit plans for union carpenters and their families in Southern Illinois, Missouri, and Kansas. MACRBS is a key partner to the Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council.
Your health, pension, vacation, and annuity benefits are a result of the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) between signatory contractors and the Mid-America Carpenters Carpenters Regional Council (CRC). Within the CBA, a portion of the overall wage package negotiated between the employer and the CRC is dedicated to benefits.
