2nd Annual Great American Smokeout Challenge
Nov 01, 2024
Join Carpenters Wellness Program for our July Challenge for a chance to win one of 10 Fitbit prizes.
Taste the Rainbow is like no other challenge we’ve run before. We might be asking you to step outside your food "comfort zone." If you look around the produce aisle in your local grocery store, you’ll notice a rainbow of colors—each color contains different, and important, nutrients that your body needs. During our six-week Taste the Rainbow Challenge, you will receive emails weekly explaining the importance of a new color of the rainbow of food each week. You will be required to track your colorful fruits and veggies each week.
So, why is the "food rainbow" important? Why are more and more doctors recommending real, colorful foods to help patients get healthier?
“Our diets can be harmful or helpful to our overall health and wellness. Eating the rainbow (eating a variety of naturally occurring colored foods), will improve your source for vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that can keep you healthy and aging well. A colorful diet can improve vision, bone health, mood, memory and inflammation among other ailments” – Julia Craig, MSN, FNP-BC, Carpenters Wellness Center, St.Louis.
What do I have to do to be entered to win?
Challenge Requirements
Carpenters Wellness Program’s Taste the Rainbow Challenge will encourage you to complete and log a series of tasks. Completion of each week’s tasks will ensure you are entered in the final raffle drawing that will take place during the week of August 17. Ten (10) participants will be selected to each win from a variety of Fitbit prizes. To be entered in the raffle you must:
Share this challenge with your friends! Bring a new, colorful fruit or veggie to work with you or to your summer gatherings with family and friends. Start the challenge early and bring a dish to your 4th of July event this year. Then, beginning July 6, log your fruits and vegetables you eat in the portal! Get credit for your efforts – it’s a win/win. And no, unfortunately, Skittles do not count toward this rainbow challenge!
