Sometimes the unexpected happens. If accident or injury strikes and you’re unable to work, do you know how you’ll provide for your family? At these times, it’s important to have an expert who can assist you. Allsup is here to help you and your dependents get the Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) you’ve paid into.
What Is SSDI?
Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) is a payroll tax-funded, federal insurance program. A portion of the FICA taxes you pay are set aside for SSDI. This benefit is designed to provide you with income if you’re unable to work due to a severe disability, until your condition improves, and guarantees income if your condition doesn’t improve. Allsup and Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council are here to make sure you get the disability benefits you worked for and deserve.
Are You Eligible For SSDI?
You may not even know you’re eligible. The Social Security Administration (SSA) oversees the SSDI program. The SSA looks at your medical and work history to determine if you qualify for SSDI benefits. Generally, to qualify for SSDI, you must:
How Allsup Can Help
With nearly 40 years of experience, Allsup has helped more than 375,000 people with disabilities receive SSDI benefits, which comes with monthly income, as well as Medicare coverage, Social Security retirement protection and free return-to-work assistance. Allsup experts help throughout the SSDI application and appeals process.
Telling your personal story. An expert disability representative like Allsup understands how to explain and document the impact of your disability on your life and ability to work. Without an advocate, your personal and unique story can be lost in a pile of government forms.
Avoiding lengthy appeals. Having an expert representative when you first apply improves the likelihood that you will get your benefits early. It could mean waiting six-months instead of two to three years.
Communicating with SSA. Social Security uses confusing, unfamiliar language. Allsup experts handle all communications and they make sure you meet SSA deadlines, solve issues and respond to agency requests for more information about your claim.
Medical condition knowledge. Our top-notch representatives study medical trends, understand chronic medical conditions and help document your condition(s) to the SSA in a way that best supports your claim.
Advocacy for your appeal, if denied. If you have been denied benefits, Allsup may be able to help. Your Allsup representative helps you understand when to appeal a denial and assists you if a hearing before an administrative law judge (ALJ) is necessary.
Better rate of approval. Having an experienced representative matters when it comes to getting benefits. You simply have a better chance of success when someone is advocating for you. Allsup’s approval rate at the hearing is 69%, which is 18% higher than the national average of 51%.
