Annually, the Medicare Open Enrollment period occurs from October 15 – December 7. This open enrollment period allows Medicare eligible individuals the opportunity to review and make changes to their current Medicare coverage.
What you need to know about the Medicare Open Enrollment Period.
- If you are already in the UHC Medicare Advantage plan with Carpenters, you will NOT need to re-enroll.
- You are only allowed one plan per Medicare guidelines. Signing up for any additional plan will automatically terminate your Carpenters UHC plan.
- If you wish to move into a different plan, please notify the Carpenters’ benefit office to have your automatic premiums discontinued a month in advance.
- Please be cautious with solicitation calls and mail. Our plan has noted an increase in participants who spoke with someone from another plan and were enrolled without their consent.
- If you intentionally move into a new Medicare plan, the Carpenters Plan does not allow reinstatements.
- You are required to have Part A and Part B in place through Social Security. The Carpenters UHC Advantage plan is Part C and includes Part D.
