May is Mental Health Awareness Month

Emotional problems, like depression, stress, and anxiety, can happen to anyone. If you think you may have problems that affect your emotional health, know it’s okay to get help. Talk to your doctor or other health care provider if you have any of the following concerns:

  • Thoughts of ending your life (like suicidal thoughts or attempts)
  • Sad, empty, or hopeless feelings
  • Worries, nervousness, other uneasy thoughts
  • Withdrawal and isolation (you don’t want to be with friends, engage in activities, or leave home)
  • Lack of interest in things you used to enjoy
  • Lack of energy or change in energy levels
  • Trouble concentrating
  • Trouble sleeping (like difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep, oversleeping, or daytime sleepiness)
  • Weight loss, loss of appetite due to emotional concerns
  • Increased use of alcohol or other drugs
  • Suffering from or grieving from a loss of a loved one, relationship, or friend
